Customers who have purchased both a Geomagic Qualify and Studio license may place the wrong license file with the wrong product. In other words, they have the Studio license installed for Qualify and vice versa. This article discusses the tale tell signs that the wrong geowatch.dat file is being used.
For Studio:
1) To tell if a Studio geowatch.dat file is being used to license Studio simply load a polygon data file into Studio.
2) The ribbon bar will have Exact Surfacing and Parametric Surfacing tabs available to the user.
3) Also, note the available commands in the Smooth, Boundaries, and Sharpen menus.
4) If a Qualify geowatch.dat file is being used to license Studio then Exact Surfacing and Parametric Surfacing tabs will not be available.
5) Also note that Smooth menu has been reduced and Boundaries and Sharpen menus are unavailable.
For Qualify:
1) To tell if a Qualify geowatch.dat file is being used to license Qualify simply load a CAD file into Qualify.
2) The Home tab will have Alignment options available to the user.
3) Also, note the number active of commands available to the user.
4) If a Studio geowatch.dat file is being used to license Qualify then the Alignment menu will be emtpy in the Home tab.
5) Also note that many of the commands are greyed out.
If either of the above matches what you are seeing on your system, then simply switch the licenses around and restart the applications.
