What operations are available in Parametric Exchange when exchanging data with Solidworks?

The operations that are available when sending data using Parametric Exchange depends on the CAD package. Below are descriptions of the operations and results available in Solidworks.



Create As + Operation = Result


Surface + Create = A Surface is created.

+ Subtract = A Surface is created.

+ Join = A Surface is created.

+ Cut = If a solid body exists in CAD, it Subtracts with this surface. If Subtract fails, a surface will be created instead.

+ Trim = A Surface is created. In addition, a "Surface Stitching" operation will be exeSubtracted.


Solid + Create = A Solid is created. If creation fails, a surface will be created instead.

+ Subtract = If a solid body exists in CAD, it subtracts this solid from it. If subtraction fails, a surface will be created instead.

+ Join = A Solid is created. If creation fails, a Surface will be created instead. In addition, a "Solid Merging" operation will be exeSubtracted.

+ Cut = A Solid is created. If creation fails, a surface will be created instead.

+ Trim = A Solid is created. If creation fails, a surface will be created instead.


Sketch + Create = A 2D sketch of the profile of the entity is created.

+ Subtract = A 2D sketch of the profile of the entity is created.

+ Join = A 2D sketch of the profile of the entity is created.

+ Cut = A 2D sketch of the profile of the entity is created.

+ Trim = A 2D sketch of the profile of the entity is created.
