Why is there data missing in my 3D Compare?

There are a few reasons why there may be uncolored patches in your 3D Compare color map:

Max Deviation

Any measured data that has a deviation greater than this value will not be included in the color map.  This can be fixed by increasing the Max Deviation.

Color Averaging

Sparse data with out much averaging can result in a patchy color map.  This can be fixed by maxing out the Color Averaging slider.

Bad Pairing

Poor alignment and large deviations can lead to incorrect pairing of geometry.  Pairing issues can create blank spots in the color map.  This can be checked using the Pairing Manager.

Reference Object Issues

Missing results may be due to an inconsistency in the orientation of the surfaces of the CAD model.  Redundant reference bodies will cause issues as well.
