[Legacy] Why does the trial version of Design Direct show zero days remaining in the trial after the initial install?

Note: This article applies to Geomagic versions 2014.0.1 and earlier only.

After installing Design Direct (formerly Spark) for the first time, you may see that the trial remaining time is set to zero days:

Perform the following steps to correct the problem:

1) Close Design Direct.

2) Browse to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Geomagic\Geomagic Design Direct and rename the LicensePath.txt to LicensePath.bak.

3) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Geomagic\Geomagic Design Direct\Addins\Capture (or Addins\Spark for prior versions) and right click on License Authorization.exe and select to Run As Administrator.

4) Restart Geomagic Design Direct and the correct number of days in the trial should now appear.
