[Legacy] I cannot get the License Tool to run. How can I activate the license file for my copy of Geomagic?

Note: This article applies to Geomagic versions 2014.0.1 and earlier only.

There may be a need to run the Advance License Tool in order to successfully install the geowatch.dat license file. Try going through the following process to activate the license:

 

  1. Open the geowatch.dat license flie in NotePad. Verify that the HostID matches the HostID on your computer.

  2. Open the Geomagic Product, go to Application Button>Resources>Advanced License Tool .

  3. Click the Host ID button.

  4. Make sure this Host ID in the popup window matches that in the license file. If it doesn't, please contact Technical Support.

     

  5. If it does, click on the Setup... button.

  6. Highlight any licenses that are listed in the License Paths window and delete ALL of them.

     

  7. Click the Add button.

  8. If you have a Nodelock license, select the Nodelock radio button. Click the "..." button and browse to the correct geowatch.dat license file.

  9. If you have a Floating license, select the Floating radio button and fill in your server and port number information.

  10. Click OK and click OK again. You should be back to the License Tool window and see some VALID licenses.

If you continue to have problems, please submit a ticket to Geomagic Technical Support .
