Note: This article applies to Geomagic versions 2014.0.1 and earlier only.

This is a common issue where Windows Updates searches the internet and finds an incorrect driver for Geomagic USB dongle. Here are the steps to fix this issue:

1. Go to your Start menu in Windows.

2. Right Mouse Click on Computer and select Properties.

3. Then click on Advance system settings.

4. A System Properties window will appear. Select the Hardware tab and click Device Installation Settings

5. Finally, a Device Installation Settings window will appear. Select No, let me choose what to do radio button then set it to Never install driver software from Windows Update.

This will deactivate the updator for Windows USB drivers.
