<!--001-->[Legacy] How do I activate a new floating license file that I was sent via email?

Updated license files for network license servers are emailed out to customers at each major release. If you did not receive your license file, you are able to generate it via the internet. Please refer to: How do I generate a new license for a floating license server?

If you have received an updated license file via email, please follow these steps to allow the server to read the license.

Note: If you had changed the port number on the previous license, make sure to edit the new license file to the same port number.

1) Copy the geowatch.dat license file to:

C:\Program Files\Geomagic\Geomagic License Server\

2) Go to Start>Programs>Geomagic>Geomagic License Server>lmtools

3) Under the Config Services tab, click Browse for the Path to the License file field and browse to the geowatch.dat license file. Click OK.

4) Navigate to the Start/Stop/Reread tab. Click Stop Server, then Start Server, and then Reread License File. This allows the server to stop and read the new license file that you have saved. There will a be a "Success" message at the bottom of the window if the new license was read correctly.

5) The new license file has been read by the license server. It should be accessible by the client machines.
